22.09.2010 RED ALERT NEWS The King’s Lynn Arts Centre complex (YES, the HOME of FAT LAVA I, the breakthrough exhibtion on West German Pottery outside of Germany )is under major threat of closing, (some of you may already be aware), which will mean the substantial loss of arts provision in the town, under a very dubious and false council plan of raising revenue.
The Arts Centre, which includes the C15th Guildhall of St George, (one of England's largest and oldest surviving Guildhalls), and attached galleries is an important part of King’s Lynn’s cultural heritage. An historic and valuable asset which adds so much to town - to the general public, tourism, schools/colleges, young & disadvantaged people, local & touring dance/drama groups, and emerging/practicing artists.
If you feel you would like to help please sign the online petition, (see link below), join the Save the King’s Lynn Arts Centre page on facebook http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=168510099168 write to local councillors to register your objection (see attached letter example) or print off the petition attached and circulate.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope together we can save the Arts in West Norfolk and help preserve and develop the King’s Lynn Arts Centre for future generations. PLEASE SIGN AND PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!! THANK YOU
